Above Jazz Combo starts off the evening at the final concert of the year.
The RMHS Jazz Bands held their concert on Wednesday night May 28th wrapping up the year in music. Jazz Combo kicked it off with a couple of tunes, "All Blues" by Miles Davis and "Cantaloupe Island" by Herbie Hancock. Then Jazz II featured several selections by composer Doug Beach; Down Home, Riley's Thang and Dana's Song highlighting several student soloing throughout each song. Finally, Jazz Ensemble I capped off the night with "Thatitude" (this year's audition piece) "Brass Machine" a song featuring the trumpet section, Li'l Darlin' by famed composer Neal Hefti, "Hack's Back" by Les Taylor and ended with the Band's favorite composer, Gordon Goodwin; playing "Sing, Sang, Sung". The Music Boosters "thank" Mr. Buti for another great year and all of the music students for their hard work and outstanding accomplishments. More photos can be found on the Jazz Band page.
