Marching season closes with Band-O-Rama
Photos by Jean Harraman

The Marching Mustangs show this year
"Exotic Impressions" was one of the toughest according to Mr. Buti.
The Marching Mustangs closed out their season with the
traditional Band-O-Rama concert on Wednesday, October 29th. This concert
allows the audience to really hear all of the great music in the band's
halftime/competition award winning show

which was entitled "Exotic Impressions.
In addition to the show music the band performed the opening
football game music which includes: The RMHS fight song, National anthem
along with drum cadences and some fun "Pep" tunes the band plays on the
sidelines during the game. For our 2009 Seniors, it was their last
time performing a halftime show with the Marching Band but not their last
time marching; they've got one more Memorial Day parade to do next May. More
pictures in the Photo Gallery.
A
little cookie dough goes a long way...
Here's a few interesting
facts about our Music Booster cookie sales... We sold
approximately 4800 cookies in 5 games which consists of 400 pounds of cookie
dough at roughly 240 cookies per hour. That's a lot of cookies! The parents
who helped were great and deserve a big thank you! They are: Karey & Paul
Bourke, Donna & Jay Bingham, Bruce Allgire and sons, Karen Reents, Lynn
Larson, Kathy Wilk, Susan Esbrook, Becky Leoni, Ann Johnston, Laura Olarte,
Elaine Rasche, Tracy Mc Mahon, Cathy Tunzi, Dave Lundquist and Mr. Voyles
for always having the tables set up and the extensions cords out there to
make my night easier. I hope I did not forget anyone... and Thank-you to
everyone who bought and ate our cookies!

Thank-you parent volunteers
The Music Boosters would like to thank all of the
parents that came out to help move equipment and unload the truck during all
of the competitions in
addition to handing out water, assisting with last minute needs and moving
equipment on to the field. It was truly a team effort and with all of the help it made everything run so smooth.
We appreciate your help and volunteer time.
Thank
you Rolling Meadows McDonald's
During the summer at the parades and throughout our competitions the Rolling
Meadows McDonald's on Kirchoff Road has been a a great business neighbor.
They always donate the ice needed to keep the water and band students cool.
We appreciate your support of the Rolling Meadows Marching Mustangs.
Music Boosters are asking for
volunteer help early
Every year the Music Department has a very busy
schedule and this year is no exception.
From competitions to hosting concerts,baking
cookies at football and basketball games, Jazz in the Meadows the list goes
on and on. We would like to ask ALL parents of music students Jazz,
Orchestra, Symphonic Band to sign-up and help us out at an event this year.
We will have a table set-up at the upcoming seasonal concerts with volunteer sheets. Most important, Jazz in the Meadows
is our largest fundraiser. It's where we raise most of our money to
help support the Music Programs at RMHS. Without it, you would have to pay
for many of the expenses out of pocket. Put it on your calendar...Jazz in
the Meadows is being held on Saturday February 28th all day. Volunteers will
also be calling you asking for your help. So sign up now. You get a chance
to meet other great parents, staff and students and hear some great Jazz
too!
